About TechTrainer HVAC

Built From the Field, Not a Boardroom

TechTrainer HVAC was created by Dane Burkenpas, an HVAC professional with hands-on experience across installation, service, sales, and customer communication — who spent years inside real HVAC companies watching what worked and what fell flat when it came to training technicians on customer communication.

The Perfect Service Call Framework is a self-guided training system built to help HVAC owners, service managers, and technicians run more consistent, professional, trust-first service calls — without pressure selling, robotic scripts, or expensive consultants.

Most HVAC Training Focuses on Technical Skills

There is no shortage of training for refrigerant cycles, electrical troubleshooting, and combustion analysis. But when it comes to training technicians on how to communicate with homeowners — how to set expectations, explain findings clearly, present options without pressure, and lead a service call from start to finish — there is almost nothing.

Technical Training

Plenty of resources on diagnostics, repair, and installation

Sales Training

Pushy scripts, high-pressure tactics, and commission-driven approaches

Communication Training

Almost nothing practical, field-tested, and built for real service calls

Built By Dane Burkenpas

TechTrainer HVAC was founded by Dane Burkenpas, who worked inside the HVAC industry across multiple roles — from riding along on service calls to managing operations to helping the company grow. That range of experience made one thing clear: most HVAC companies do not have a repeatable system for training technicians on the communication and trust-building side of the service call.

Field Work

Rode along on hundreds of residential service calls, watching what top technicians did differently from the ones who struggled.

Operations

Managed dispatching, parts ordering, service agreements, training coordination, and daily operations at a growing HVAC company.

Training & Growth

Helped build company culture, training processes, hiring systems, and the playbook for consistent customer communication.

What We Believe

A few principles guide everything we build.

Trust-First Communication

Technicians should be able to present options and recommendations without high-pressure tactics. When homeowners trust the technician, better decisions follow.

Practical, Not Academic

Training that reads well in a conference room often falls apart in a real home with a real homeowner. Every part of the framework was tested and refined against actual field experience.

Built for Everyone in the Company

Training should not only be for the top technician or the natural communicator. It should work for a brand-new tech, a 20-year veteran, and the manager supporting them.

Self-Guided by Design

Companies should not need to hire an expensive consultant or book live coaching sessions to get consistent technician training. The system is designed to be implemented internally, at your own pace.

Reflection prompts, action steps, and practice exercises so technicians apply the framework to real customer situations.

Who This Is For

The Perfect Service Call Framework was built for residential HVAC companies that want their technicians to communicate better, not pressure harder.
